Dart Events and Tournaments

The number of events that take place in the darting calendar is continuing to grow. As the sport starts to pick up new players and in turn, exposure increases, the range of markets and competitions that bookmakers are willing to provide will in turn expand.

Below we have listed some of the major competitions from around the world. These are a mix of both PDC and BDO events. With each we have looked some of the history behind them whilst also trying to point you in the right direction of not only which bookmakers to use, but also which markets to target.

BDO Events and Tournaments

World Darts Championship

The World Darts Championship is the pinnacle of the season for the BDO. The £300,000 prize pool with £100,000 going to the 2014 winner, Steven Bunting, is by far the biggest on the BDO circuit. Premier League

Again, coverage is huge amongst the betting scene, but we particularly like Bet Victor for the Premier League as they include a number of coupons to look out for.

Fondly referred to as the ‘FA Cup of darts’ the UK Open is one of the best competition in terms of value bets. The inclusion of amateur darts players and the lack of any ranking system can mean that players can literally draw anybody and at any time. A bit of a pot luck for some matches, but again another well covered tournament in terms of bookmakers; another ‘take your pick’.

PDC World Grand Prix

The Grand Prix has become synonymous with its double in, double out format often making for some interesting darts. The format also provides a real leveller for players, again meaning that upsets are often on the cards. Remember to look out for the 180 markets and the 3 dart average markets with either Bet Victor or bet365 for this tournament.
